ElectronicSeek turns electronics identification and purchasing questions into source-linked explanations and working checklists. Each guide should show what is known, what a source actually supports and what the reader still needs to verify for a particular device or order.

Who prepares the guides?

David Whitmore oversees editorial direction at ElectronicSeek. His About profile describes his role and 21 years of experience. The ElectronicSeek Editorial Desk remains the shared byline for the current articles. The September 5, 2026 revisions used AI-assisted research and writing. Source checks were performed, but independent human expert review has not been recorded. Article review credits and physical inspection claims require their own documented work.

How sources are selected

For manufacturer procedures, use the manufacturer’s own support documentation. For identifier and technical distinctions, prefer the relevant standards organization. For trade and purchasing context, use public government or institutional material within its stated scope.

Place the source beside the claim it supports. A link is not evidence for unrelated assertions elsewhere in the article. When a source is intended for a particular country or audience, preserve that limitation instead of presenting it as a worldwide rule.

Record source access dates in the article. Public documentation can change, and a successful source check does not establish that every supplier follows the documented process. If documents conflict, the unresolved point should be identified rather than silently resolved by guessing.

Examples, worksheets and calculations

Our worksheets are original editorial aids. They are not certifications, legal forms or validated supplier credit models. Hypothetical examples are explicitly labeled and are not presented as observed transactions, measured defect rates or market prices.

Cost examples state the quantity, currency, assumptions, excluded charges and calculation method. Downloadable CSV snapshots contain values unless explicitly described otherwise; changing an input does not automatically update their totals. Keep sensitive account details, serial numbers and commercial documents in your own private records.

What article dates mean

• The publication date retains the date already recorded for the article; it is not independent proof of when a production deployment occurred.
• The updated date marks a substantial revision to the explanation, evidence or working materials.
• “Sources checked” records the latest documented check of the linked claims. It does not mean the publication inspected goods or certified a supplier.
• A revision note identifies the substance of the update. Changing only the date is not a content revision.

Corrections and unresolved claims

A useful correction record identifies the article URL, the disputed sentence, the exact model or jurisdiction where relevant, and a primary source supporting the correction. A revision should fix the affected text and worksheet together and state whether the conclusion changes.

Scope and commercial relationships

The current four guides explain purchasing methods and make no supplier recommendations. Linking to an official source does not imply endorsement or affiliation. Future commercial references should be relevant to the reader’s task and disclose an applicable commercial relationship.

For an actual transaction, use the applicable contract, manufacturer policy and destination requirements. The guides organize questions and evidence; they do not establish a particular buyer’s legal rights or tax treatment. Browse the research library to choose the guide relevant to your next decision.

Separate three kinds of content

Source-backed explanation describes a claim supported by linked material. Its scope should remain no broader than that material. A manufacturer procedure for one product is not automatically a procedure for every product with a similar name.

Editorial workflow proposes a way to organize a task, such as separating a requirement from an offered specification or assigning an owner to a checkpoint. It should be recognizable as a suggested working method, not a mandatory industry rule or a process proven by field trials.

Hypothetical example illustrates reasoning with invented circumstances or explicitly assumed values. Its purpose is to make the method understandable. It must not become a claimed customer story, observed failure rate or current market quotation when summarized elsewhere on the site.

Checks before a substantive revision is considered ready

For content review, check that the main question is answered, important qualifications remain near the relevant claim, and sources support what the text actually says. Confirm that cross-links lead to the intended guide and that the companion file agrees with the explanation. Recheck calculations when an input or method changes.

For page delivery, check that the text is available in the rendered page, headings follow a readable structure, and wide tables can be used on a narrow screen. Titles and descriptions should identify the page’s actual purpose. Category pages should help readers choose their next task instead of repeating the linked article word for word.

Automated checks can find missing fields, broken internal links and arithmetic mismatches. They cannot establish a reviewer’s qualifications, prove a supplier’s claims or replace independent subject-matter review. A successful build is a delivery check, not an endorsement of every conclusion.

Handling unavailable or changed sources

If a cited page becomes unavailable, do not silently replace it with a different page that fails to support the claim. Locate an appropriate primary source, reassess the statement and preserve any important limitation. If the point cannot be supported, narrow or remove it and explain a material correction in the revision note.

A reader’s downloaded file remains their saved copy. Revisions to the website do not update that copy automatically. When changes affect a worksheet’s interpretation or calculation, the article and downloadable version should be reviewed together so the two do not give conflicting instructions.
